the Giffoni Film Festival is dedicated to cinema for children, youngsters and family. The objective of the festival is the proposal of quality images that are aimed at entertaining the young audience but also at telling them stories revolving around their peers from different cultures and walks of life. The 2012 edition of the Giffoni Film Festival, the number 42, will be held from 14^th to 24^th of July 2012 and the theme will be HAPPINESS.

A non-competitive section SHORT IS HAPPYwill be dedicated to an adult audience to show a different kind of animation, amazing short films also for the grown ups, in order to go against the idea that cartoons are only made for the little ones.
